About Laflamme Legal

Laflamme Legal is a solo corporate and securities practice in Toronto's financial district, founded by lawyer Peter Laflamme. Laflamme holds a B.A. (Hons) from Western University (1996) and a Juris Doctor from Western University (2000), and started practising law that year in corporate finance and securities work during a boom in the commodities markets. In 2006, Laflamme moved to Stikeman Elliott's London office, where the work involved advising companies, banks, and UK broker-dealers on mining and oil and gas transactions in South Africa, the UK North Sea, Turkey, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Laflamme returned to Toronto in 2011 to serve as General Counsel and Managing Director for a private investment firm, then founded Laflamme Legal. The practice now advises Canadian and international public and private companies, directors and officers, banks, investment dealers, private equity firms, and business owners on financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, governance, and contract negotiation, with particular depth in mining and oil and gas transactions. Laflamme is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada.

The neighbourhood

Laflamme Legal's office sits at 121 King Street West, a 25 storey tower at the corner of King and York in the heart of Toronto's financial district. The building was rebranded Roserock Place after a 2022 sale and connects directly into the PATH, the underground network that links much of the downtown core. For a practice built around corporate finance, securities, and M&A work, the address puts the firm a short walk from the banks, dealers, and public company head offices it advises.
