McLaughlin Law, whose web address is jrmlaw.ca, is a small real estate and business law firm in downtown Toronto. Its office is in suite 1400 at 10 King Street East, near Yonge Street. The real estate practice covers residential and commercial purchases, sales, and title transfers throughout Ontario, along with private mortgages, bank refinances, commercial leases, landlord and tenant matters, and construction and condominium liens. On the business side, the firm advises entrepreneurs and small and medium sized businesses on incorporation, the purchase and sale of a business, and contract drafting and review, and it also offers notary public and document commissioning services from its Toronto office.

The firm has two lawyers with different paths into practice. Jeffrey McLaughlin holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from York University, a Bachelor of Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario, and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, and spent years in management roles on large scale engineering projects in southern Michigan and southwestern Ontario before turning to real estate and business law. Nelson Oliveira earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and Portuguese from the University of Toronto, and came to the practice from a background in the construction industry. Oliveira provides legal services in English and Portuguese.
