About Jaygott Law PC

Jaygott Law PC is a small general practice law firm in midtown Toronto. Jason W. Gottlieb founded it in 2019 near Yonge and St. Clair, and it's still based there today. The firm handles family law, real estate law, and wills and estate planning, along with litigation, and represents clients in courts across the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Newmarket, Brampton, Milton, and Oshawa. Gottlieb describes the practice as a throwback to an earlier model of law, where a lawyer lives and works in the same community and doesn't limit the practice to one narrow specialty. Its work comes almost entirely from referrals and word of mouth.

Gottlieb earned a J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2010, after a B.A. in philosophy and religious studies from York University and a master's degree in education from OISE at the University of Toronto. Earlier careers in financial services and education came first, and by the time Jaygott Law opened in 2019, Gottlieb had about ten years of legal practice behind the new firm. Gottlieb has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and the Ontario Court of Appeal, and also holds a qualifying registration as a psychotherapist, running a separate counselling practice, Jaygott Psychotherapy, alongside the law firm.
