About Hutcheson Law

Hutcheson Law is a solo family law practice on Spadina Avenue in downtown Toronto, run by William (Will) Hutcheson. Hutcheson holds a B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from Queen's University and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2008. Articling was completed in criminal defence at Greenspan Humphrey Lavine, followed by a period as an associate family lawyer at Martha McCarthy & Company before opening a solo practice in 2009.

The practice covers divorce, parenting time and decision making, child and spousal support, property division, marriage contracts, and child protection matters, with representation available at every level of the Ontario courts, including the Court of Appeal. Hutcheson is a Certified Specialist in Mediation through Family Dispute Resolution of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Family Mediators, is trained to prepare Voice of the Child reports, and sits on the Office of the Children's Lawyer's Personal Rights Panel. The firm also prepares basic wills and powers of attorney, referring more complex estate and trust work to a specialist.
