Hope Springs Fertility Law is a small Toronto firm built almost entirely around Canadian fertility law. Its practice covers donor and surrogacy agreements, the post birth work of securing parentage rights, registering a child's birth, and applying for a Canadian passport, plus the wills, estate planning, and custody matters that often follow. The firm works with three kinds of clients, intended parents, donors, and surrogates, and for more than 15 years it has helped families built with donors and surrogates in Canada, including many from outside the country.

Founder Cindy Wasser was a criminal lawyer before turning to fertility law, a shift that followed the birth of a daughter born with the help of an egg donor and a surrogate. Wasser has described reaching that point as a long, confusing and terrifying process, and has continued to work on how Canada's surrogacy and donor laws are applied since founding the firm. The path to parenthood behind that decision was the subject of a 2014 Toronto Life feature on Toronto's surrogacy market. Today the two lawyer firm also includes legal assistants and an office administrator, and it describes itself as working with a wider network of fertility lawyers and services in Canada and abroad.
