About HOK Law

HOK Law is a small general practice in downtown Toronto operated by Samuel Kazen. The name comes from Hamburg Olson Kazen Law Professional Corporation, and the firm continues practices built by Harvey Hamburg, who has since retired, David Olson, also retired, and the late Paul Willis. Kazen graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004.

The firm's work centres on real estate, wills and estates, and corporate and commercial law, with added capacity in intellectual property and uncontested family matters. Real estate files include resale and prebuild purchases and sales of condos, houses, and townhouses, along with mortgage registration, discharge, and refinancing. Estates work covers wills, powers of attorney for personal care and property, advance care directives, and probate applications, plus assistance for executors administering an estate. Kazen has acted on thousands of real estate transactions and prepared thousands of wills and powers of attorney over the years, alongside hundreds of probate applications. The office is in the Carlton on the Park building at Carlton and Jarvis Streets, overlooking Allan Gardens, a short walk from College subway station.
