About Hansra Law

Hansra Law is a Toronto business and technology law firm founded in 2020 by Sukhi Hansra, who began a legal career at a Bay Street firm before opening the practice. Hansra holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Law Society of Ontario. Within the OBA, Hansra chairs the Law Practice Management Section and serves as vice chair of the Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Section. Before law school, Hansra ran a Toronto meal prep company that closed for lack of proper commercial kitchen facilities, then started a legal technology and AI company and a technology consulting business.

The practice serves start ups, small and medium sized businesses, and larger companies from its office at 1 Dundas Street West in downtown Toronto. Work covers company formation, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, and buying or selling a business, plus a franchise law practice that acts for both franchisors and franchisees, never for competing parties in the same system, and a technology law practice covering software licensing, SaaS agreements, and privacy policies. New matters generally start with a free discovery call, and the firm quotes one flat fee for clearly defined work such as an incorporation, with hourly billing for open ended matters.
