About Handa Law

Handa Law Professional Corporation is a small Ontario law practice built around one lawyer, founder and principal Kritika Handa, who focuses exclusively on real estate law and family law. Handa holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Leicester. The firm serves clients from offices in Toronto and Brampton, and it's set up to let people handle a home purchase, sale, or family law matter without necessarily setting foot in either office.

On the real estate side, the firm works with clients from the moment they sign an agreement of purchase and sale or refinance, coordinating with lenders, realtors, and mortgage brokers so the deal closes on time. Its family law practice covers custody and access, child and spousal support, division of property, cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, separation agreements, and litigation, including emergency motions. The firm describes its approach to family law clients simply: they are people, not files.

Much of that work can be done remotely. Handa Law offers virtual signings, meeting clients by video conferencing and completing documents through digital signature tools, alongside in person appointments. Senior law clerk Denise Dixon, a licensed paralegal who trained at Sheridan College, and law clerk Stephen Yam work alongside Handa on files day to day.
