Green Immigration Law is a Toronto immigration practice founded by Clinton J. Green, who worked at established Canadian immigration firms for close to a decade before starting the firm. The firm's own account of its founding describes Green's perspective as shaped by personal experience with the immigration system, and the practice as founded to bridge the gap between bureaucracy and human need. The practice is set up to serve three groups: businesses hiring or transferring foreign talent, individual applicants, and families, including LGBTQIA+ couples and their sponsorship cases.
On the business side, the firm works on Labour Market Impact Assessments and LMIA exempt work permits, business visitor compliance, employer audit preparation, and Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program applications for retaining talent. For individuals and families, it handles spousal, parent, and grandparent sponsorship, permanent residency and citizenship applications, and sponsorship for same sex and common law partners, with attention to name changes and gender marker updates where they affect a case's documentation.
Green earned a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2015, graduating with the Dean's Gold Key and the Joel S. Guberman Prize in Immigration Law, awarded to the student with the highest standing and demonstrated commitment to immigration law. Green was called to the Ontario bar in 2016.
Flat feeThe firm's office sits in a heritage building at 36 Toronto Street, a high rise structure completed in 1914 with a historic association with Toronto architect E.J. Lennox. The building is designated under the Ontario Heritage Act and falls within the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Heritage Conservation District.
Green Immigration Law's office is located within the building, in downtown Toronto's St. Lawrence area.
