Free consultationMax Berger Professional Law Corporation is a Toronto immigration law firm that has practised Canadian immigration law exclusively since 1987. The firm is headquartered on Bay Street in Toronto and also keeps a Montreal office in the Aldred Building in Old Montreal, close to the Immigration and Refugee Board, plus a Miami Beach office for clients moving between the United States and Canada. The name comes from founder Max Berger, a native of Winnipeg who studied at the University of Manitoba and York University before graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
The firm's work spans the full range of Canadian immigration matters: permanent residence routes including Express Entry, family sponsorship and the Provincial Nominee Program, temporary residence applications such as study and work permits, and enforcement and appeal work including admissibility hearings, detention reviews, deportation and sponsorship appeals, and Federal Court judicial review. Berger has appeared before the Immigration and Refugee Board since it was created in 1989 and has represented clients before the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. Berger also serves as co-president of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association and is regularly quoted on immigration policy in the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star and on CBC and CTV.

The Montreal office is in the Aldred Building on Place D'Armes in Old Montreal. The firm's site points out this location is just minutes from the Immigration and Refugee Board, which matters for a practice built around appearing at IRB hearings.
