Goldstein Communications Law is a small Toronto firm built around one specialty: Canadian communications policy and regulation. Founder Kevin Goldstein advises Canadian and international companies and organizations on the rules governing television, radio, cable, satellite, IPTV and over-the-top streaming services. Before starting the firm, Kevin Goldstein spent close to two decades on the regulatory side of the broadcasting industry, most recently as Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Content and Distribution at BCE Inc., the parent company of Bell Canada. That role covered regulatory issues across local, specialty and pay television, radio, digital and on-demand content, and cable, satellite and IPTV services. Earlier roles included Vice President, Regulatory Affairs at CTVglobemedia and Director, Regulatory Affairs, Radio & Television at CHUM Limited.

The practice centres on proceedings before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, along with related dealings with federal departments such as Canadian Heritage. Files have included some of the industry's largest transactions, among them BCE's acquisition of Astral Media and the sales of CTV to BCE and CHUM to CTVglobemedia, plus multiple CRTC licence renewal proceedings and reviews of the regulatory frameworks for television, distribution and radio.
