Freeman Legal is a small commercial and civil litigation practice in downtown Toronto, founded by Joshua Freeman in the spring of 2019. Before starting an independent practice, Freeman worked as a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group at a larger, full-service Toronto business law firm. Freeman was called to the Ontario bar in 2008 and holds a law degree from Queen's University and a B.A. in political science and philosophy from Huron University at Western.
The firm focuses on asset recovery and the collection of secured and unsecured debts, creditors' and debtors' rights, real estate and commercial tenancy litigation, mortgage enforcement, and contract and shareholder disputes.
