About Emstrata Law

Emstrata Law is structured as an alliance rather than a conventional law firm partnership. It describes itself as a complete team of employment specialists working together under the Emstrata Law umbrella, taking a dedicated team approach and sharing a team of researchers, administrative assistants and interns rather than operating as separate, unconnected offices. The alliance advises employers on workplace policies, on legislated standards such as human rights and workplace safety, and on resolving workplace disputes, with strategies intended to protect everyone involved, both the employer and its employees.

The alliance's office is at 480 University Avenue in Toronto, on the stretch of the avenue where downtown office towers sit between the city's court buildings to the south and its hospital district to the north. Emstrata Law describes its approach as building a planned employment strategy instead of only reacting to problems as they come up: reviewing an organization's existing policies and setting a forward looking plan that still leaves room to step in if a dispute does arise.
