About Desa Law

Desa Law is a small civil and commercial litigation firm in downtown Toronto's financial district. Miranda Desa founded the firm in 2019 after being called to the Ontario bar in 2011, following law studies at Queen's University and an undergraduate honours degree in philosophy and political science at Lakehead University. The firm represents businesses and professionals in disputes touching business law, property law (both real estate and intellectual property), and tort claims, and it also offers consulting, advisory, and government relations services to companies and non-profit organizations.

The team includes senior litigation counsel Will O'Hara, a Law Society of Ontario Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation who studied law and music at Dalhousie University and has decades of experience in real property and intellectual property disputes. Associate Zainab Olasege holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and an honours science degree combining biology and professional writing, also from U of T. Counsel John Reiterowski is licensed to practice in both Ontario and New York State, has experience in matters before courts across Ontario and British Columbia and the Supreme Court of Canada, and served previously in the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserve.

The neighbourhood

Desa Law's suite is at 55 University Avenue, an 18 storey office tower at the northeast corner of University Avenue and Wellington Street in the heart of Toronto's financial core. The building dates to 1978 and connects directly into the underground PATH network and to St. Andrew subway station on the Yonge University line, which makes it an easy meeting point for clients coming from across the city.

The office is part of Wolf Law Chambers, an arrangement in which a number of independent lawyers share space and practise on their own rather than as one firm. Senior litigation counsel Will O'Hara, for instance, runs a separate practice, William S. O'Hara Law, while also serving as counsel to Desa Law's clients.
