About Businger Law

Businger Law is a small commercial litigation practice in Toronto led by founder Nicolas Businger. Before starting the firm, Nicolas spent over six years at a national law firm and managed litigation as in-house counsel at two financial services companies, building a litigation practice in Toronto along the way. The firm represents clients at all levels of court in Ontario, as well as before administrative and regulatory tribunals. Its work centers on business and commercial disputes, including shareholder and partnership disputes, real estate litigation, banking litigation, fraud, professional liability claims, injunctive relief, estate litigation and appeals.

The firm's other team member is Roz Bauer, a law clerk with more than three decades of experience navigating the judicial system, who supports motions preparation and assists at trials and appeals. Businger Law's office is at 33 Bloor Street East, a tower connected directly to the Bloor-Yonge subway interchange, Toronto's busiest. Its earlier office, according to an archived 2020 version of its site, was in the Trader's Bank Building at 67 Yonge Street, a 1906 structure that was Toronto's first skyscraper and has been designated under the Ontario Heritage Act since 1976.

The neighbourhood

Businger Law's office sits in a 17 storey tower at Yonge and Bloor, one of downtown Toronto's busiest intersections, connected directly into the Bloor-Yonge subway station. The building went through a 25 million dollar lobby, common area and facade renovation completed in 2021, which added a second entrance specifically to ease congestion at the station's busy northern doors. For a litigation practice whose clients and court appearances span the city and the province, that kind of transit access is a genuine practical fit, not just a downtown address.
