About Bunting Family Law

Bunting Family Law is a solo family law and mediation practice in Toronto, run by Sydney Bunting, J.D. Bunting worked at several other family law firms in Toronto before opening this practice, which represents and advises clients across the full range of family law: cohabitation and marriage (prenuptial) agreements, separation and divorce, parenting time and decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, and the division of family property. Depending on what a case needs, the firm works through negotiation, mediation, or litigation, and it also drafts domestic contracts for clients who want an agreement in place before or during a relationship.

Bunting is a trained mediator and a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates' Society, and the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. Litigation experience spans the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and Alberta's Court of Queen's Bench. Bunting also co-authored a chapter on children's and youth legal issues in LGBTQ2+ Law: Practice Issues and Analysis, a text published by Emond in 2019, and has been quoted in The Globe and Mail on financial matters in common-law relationships.
