The neighbourhood
Barot Law's office is at 1179 King Street West, inside the Toronto Carpet Factory complex in Liberty Village. The complex takes its name from the Toronto Carpet Manufacturing plant, part of the neighbourhood's industrial era; Wikipedia records that the plant, on nearby Liberty Street, shut down in 1990. The current owner has restored the buildings into office space while keeping their brick and beam construction and operable windows. The complex has also earned BOMA Best certification as a green building.
Liberty Village grew out of that same industrial era, when factories including Massey Harris and the John Inglis Company operated nearby, and it has since become a dense mix of residential towers, offices, and converted lofts. The 504 King streetcar and the Exhibition GO station both serve the area, useful for clients travelling in from elsewhere in the GTA for a family, criminal, or immigration matter.
