History
Jeffrey Abrams and Peter Krochak started the firm in 1996, and by 1998 the two founding partners were practising Canadian immigration law and nothing else. The firm was already working out of Suite 402 at 250 Merton Street, the address it still uses, and it ran a Russian-language version of its website. In those early years Abrams helped clients apply for permanent residence through Canadian visa posts as far apart as Moscow, Beijing, Cairo and Tel Aviv.

Skilled worker clients get help from start to finish, from setting up the Express Entry online profile to the issue of the immigrant visa. The lawyers check each client's work history against Canada's National Occupational Classification system (TEER 0 to 3), upload the approved application through IRCC's Authorized Representative Portal, and advise clients to file IELTS or TEF results when language proof is required rather than other evidence.

Business immigration
Abrams & Krochak assesses applicants for the Self-Employed class and the Start-Up Visa program. Business clients get a formal business proposal and detailed written legal arguments prepared to accompany their permanent residence application.
