About Herron Law

Herron Law is a solo practice run by Jeremy Herron, a barrister and solicitor based on Dominion Ave. in Midland, Ontario. Herron earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Queen's University, graduating with honors, then completed law school at the University of Saskatchewan in April 2010 and has been practicing family law in Midland since 2011. The practice covers family law (divorce, custody and access, child support, spousal support, separation agreements, adoptions, marriage contracts, and property division), small claims court matters, and wills and powers of attorney, serving Midland and the Southern Georgian Bay region.

A distinctive part of the practice is its focus on Aboriginal family law. Herron has Métis heritage and studied the Michif language and Aboriginal Adult Education through Brock University, and took part in the University of Saskatchewan's Native Law Summer Program, first as a student and later as a tutor. The practice's family law work for clients connected to reserve communities takes into account that property division and child rearing there can follow different norms than the ones the general family law system assumes, which the practice says courts don't always account for on their own.
