Montes Gendron Lawyers practises criminal defence and family law from an office on Clapperton Street in downtown Barrie. The firm has practised in Barrie for more than 25 years, and its casework is split between two lawyers who each lead a side of the practice. Martin Montes, called to the Ontario Bar in 2009, handles the criminal defence caseload, appearing at all levels of court in Ontario on impaired driving and other driving offences, drug charges, assault, and related Criminal Code matters. Montes belongs to the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Ontario Bar Association, and sits on Legal Aid Ontario's Extremely Serious Matters panel.

Danielle Gendron, called to the bar in 2013, runs the family law side: divorce, separation, custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, and disputes between common-law partners. Gendron's cases often involve domestic violence, child protection, or mental health issues that intersect with family court, and Gendron belongs to the Family Lawyers Association and the Ontario Bar Association. A third lawyer, Kirsten Hudak, called to the bar in 2025, joined the practice after earlier experience in the non-profit and public sectors.

The firm also takes on one articling student a year and treats student mentorship as part of its role in the Simcoe County legal community.
