Gowland, Boriss Injury Lawyers is a personal injury firm in Peterborough that was founded in 1975, making it one of Central Ontario's longer standing personal injury practices. Rather than a general practice, its work is limited to accident victims: motor vehicle collisions, slip, trip and fall claims, accident benefits disputes, and long term disability and other insurance disputes. The firm also takes on estate litigation and a narrower real estate litigation practice limited to disputed transactions, defective properties and boundary disagreements, not routine conveyancing.

Two lawyers run the firm today, with a combined background spanning decades. Robert W. Becker was called to the Ontario bar in 1984 after studying law at the University of Toronto and has since practiced personal injury, estate litigation and insurance law, including trials across Ontario's courts and appeals argued before the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. David A. Beckett, called to the bar in 1996, has focused for nearly 30 years on serious personal injury and long term disability insurance litigation, with trial experience in the Superior Court of Justice. The firm works on contingency, so clients pay nothing unless it recovers compensation, and meetings can take place at the office, a client's home, or in hospital.
