McDonald Simon LLP has served Stratford and the broader Perth County area for more than 50 years, with its head office in downtown Stratford and satellite offices in London and St Marys, Ontario. Its full name, McDonald Simon Stewart & Reidy LLP, reflects four partners: Hugh D. McDonald, Mark E. Simon, Shawn Stewart and Luke Reidy. Hugh McDonald retired on January 1, 2025, after 52 years of legal practice, and Mark Simon, who moved from firms in Waterloo and London to Stratford in the winter of 2023, now leads the firm as managing partner.

Mark Simon focuses on business, real estate, wills and estates, and appeals, and holds an MBA with a specialization in accounting and considerable experience in finance and tax. Shawn Stewart handles family law and civil litigation, and was a co-creator and the inaugural president of the Windsor Family Law Society before practicing in Windsor and London. A team led by Stewart won a defamation appeal at the Ontario Court of Appeal. Luke Reidy practices criminal defence and civil litigation across Ontario, drawing on an earlier career in construction management for construction-related disputes. The firm also includes an associate lawyer licensed in both Jamaica and Ontario, and senior counsel who practices family law and has called the London area home since 1989.
