Peters Law Group is a small firm on Stittsville Main Street, in the Stittsville community within the City of Ottawa. Thomas E. Peters, a barrister and solicitor, leads the practice, handling real estate, family law, wills, powers of attorney and estate planning, along with notary public and commissioner of oaths services. The firm's own site says it has more than a decade of experience, and that many clients are repeat clients, referrals, or family members of people Peters has worked with before.

Peters holds a double honours degree in biopsychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, where alternative dispute resolution was a particular interest during law school. That leaning shows up in the firm's family law work, which it describes as aiming to resolve files out of court rather than through litigation. On the real estate side, the practice covers residential purchases and sales, inter-family property transfers, refinancing, private mortgage financing, title applications and severance applications.

Peters names E. Winston Tennant, a retired lawyer with close to 50 years in practice, as a longstanding mentor to the firm.
