About Frechette Mediation

Frechette Mediation is a bilingual mediation, workplace investigation, and litigation support practice based in Ottawa, operating as Frechette Professional Corporation. Founder Jean-Michel Frechette, an Ottawa native, was called to the Ontario and British Columbia bars in 2013 and spent close to a decade litigating insurance, commercial, employment, and construction disputes across Canada before launching the firm in January 2021. Frechette Mediation now works with individuals, families, and businesses in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, with every service offered fully in French and English, online or in person.

The practice centers on alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, mediation-arbitration, and court-connected mediation under Ontario's Rule 24.1, alongside litigation support such as legal research, document drafting, and trial preparation. It also carries out independent workplace investigations into harassment, sexual harassment, and toxic workplace environments, drawing on Frechette's own experience arguing before provincial courts, the Federal Court, and the B.C. Court of Appeal. The investigations side of the practice is rounded out by a retired peace officer with more than 25 years of investigations experience, trained as a workplace mediator and certified as an instructor on workplace harassment issues.
