About Mihad Fahmy Law

Mihad Fahmy Law is a solo human rights, employment, and labour law practice based in downtown London, Ontario. Mihad Fahmy graduated from Queen's University Faculty of Law, was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997, and went on to earn an LL.M. in 1999 with a focus on minority rights and constitutional law. Before setting up an independent practice, Fahmy spent more than 15 years as union side counsel, appearing before grievance arbitration boards across the health care, college, and public service sectors, and served as Human Rights Advisor to the National Council of Canadian Muslims for over a decade.

The practice now centres on independent workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, and other misconduct, along with consulting and policy drafting for employers, unions, nonprofits, and charities on their obligations under the Human Rights Code and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Fahmy is an approved investigator on the Federal Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations Roster and a member of the Investigations Unit with the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner. Fahmy also teaches part time at Huron University College, an affiliate of Western University in London, on freedom of religion and religious accommodation.
