About Susan E. Latta: Barrister, Solicitor & Notary

Susan E. Latta runs a sole law practice from a home office in Komoka, Ontario, serving London and the surrounding area by appointment only. Latta wasn't always a lawyer: a Bachelor of Science in Audiology, earned with cum laude standing from the Faculty of Medicine at Western University, led to 17 years as a clinical audiologist at University Hospital in London. Starting in 1996, Latta also ran an educational audiology consulting partnership for the Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board, a role that continued until the decision to pursue law in 2003.

Latta was called to the bar in 2007 and is licensed by the Law Society of Ontario as a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary. After the call, Latta joined Community Legal Services at Western University's Faculty of Law as review counsel, while also building a part time private practice in wills and estate law and civil litigation. The practice today covers wills and estates, small claims court matters (claims up to $35,000), civil litigation, and elder law, including capacity issues, powers of attorney, and concerns around long term care.
