The Law Offices of R. Michael Rodé is a sole-practitioner criminal law practice based in Kingston, Ontario, with an office on Ontario Street in the downtown core. Rodé is a Barrister and Solicitor and a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, the Kingston Criminal Defence Lawyers' Association, the Canadian Prison Lawyers' Association and the Mental Health Legal Committee. The practice covers criminal trials and appeals for adults and youth, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code charges, Provincial Offences Act matters, federal parole and correctional disciplinary hearings, mental health law before the Ontario Review Board and Consent and Capacity Board, and child protection, along with notary public services. Clients come from Kingston and across Eastern Ontario, including Napanee, Belleville, Picton, Sharbot Lake, Perth and Brockville.

Rodé didn't come to law straight out of school. A Juris Doctor from Queen's University, earned in 2008, followed 22 years of service in the Canadian Forces, where Rodé retired as a Major after postings across Canada, including the high Arctic, and two years as the Canadian Exchange officer with the British Army Air Corps. Peacekeeping deployments took Rodé to the Sinai, Nicaragua, Somalia and the former Yugoslavia. Before that came an earlier career start, training in Aviation and Flight Technology at Seneca College.
