About Susan Peel

Susan Peel runs a solo family law practice in Lindsay, Ontario, under the name Peel Mediation and Law. Peel has practised law in Lindsay since 1992 and now works exclusively in family law, describing the focus on the practice's own site as "Family law. That's it." For more than 20 years, that work included representing children in Family Court and Child Welfare Court proceedings through the Office of the Children's Lawyer.

Today the practice has stepped back from litigation, concentrating on mediation, collaborative family law, and unbundled, do it yourself divorce coaching for people who want to manage more of their own separation with occasional legal support. Peel is an Accredited Family Mediator and Collaborative Family Law Lawyer, and on a collaborative file a wider team can be brought in, including a financial professional and a family professional, so a separating couple gets full support while staying out of court. The office is in Kent Place, a two storey building in downtown Lindsay.
