Chantel Lawton is a family law practice based in Lindsay, Ontario, in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Chantel Lawton is a Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public who holds a law degree along with an Honours Bachelor of Music, and the practice describes two decades of experience in family law. After years of family litigation, the practice's focus shifted in 2012, when Chantel Lawton trained in the collaborative process and went on to become an accredited family mediator, or AccFM, through the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. That accreditation required completing the association's mediation coursework plus a 100 hour internship with experienced mediators.

Today the practice concentrates on alternative dispute resolution, offering both mediation and collaborative family law for separating and divorcing couples, alongside wills and powers of attorney, estate administration, independent legal advice, cohabitation and marriage agreements, and limited retainers or unbundled services for clients who need help with only part of a family matter. Chantel Lawton previously represented children through the Office of the Children's Lawyer within Ontario's Ministry of the Attorney General, an experience that reinforced a shift toward resolving family matters outside the courtroom. Chantel Lawton is also part of the mediator roster for Four Counties Family Mediation, a court connected program that serves Peterborough, Haliburton, Northumberland and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
