The neighbourhood
The Guelph office at 137 Norfolk Street is a house from 1912 to 1913, on a lot that was split off from the Italianate home next door to the north, the one with the three storey octagonal bay window. It was once a local doctor's home and practice; the doctor's old examination room is now the photocopy room. It became an office around 1983. Inside, the ten foot ceilings, the narrow original hardwood and the oversized trim and baseboards have all survived.
The Waterdown office is at 26 Mill Street South. Waterdown grew up with the Industrial Revolution, as mills spread along Grindstone Creek through the stretch known as Smokey Hollow. The village joined neighbouring townships to form the Town of Flamborough in 1974, and in 2001 Flamborough became part of the City of Hamilton.
