Thomas, Efraim LLP is a small law firm based in downtown Oshawa, in Ontario's Durham Region. It traces its history to 1978, when David Thomas returned to Oshawa after articling at a Toronto law firm and opened a practice there, first known as the Law Office of David B. Thomas, offering real estate, wills and estates, and corporate services. Thomas became known locally for meeting clients at hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences when a trip to the office wasn't practical. Leon Efraim, who earned a law degree from the University of Calgary in 2001 and worked in corporate finance and securities before serving as in house counsel and chief compliance officer for a wealth management company, started a separate corporate and estate law practice in 2013 and later took office space in Oshawa. After meeting Thomas in 2014, Efraim merged the two practices in 2015 to form Thomas, Efraim LLP, joining an established real estate practice with corporate finance and estate law experience.
