About Ready Family Law

Ready Family Law is a sole-practitioner firm in Oshawa, Ontario, run by Christine Ready, a barrister and solicitor who has practiced family law exclusively for more than 25 years. Ready trained in collaborative law while working as an associate at a family law firm in London, Ontario, before relocating to Oshawa in August 2003 to open the current practice.

The firm concentrates on collaborative family law, an approach in which everyone involved commits to resolving matters without going to court, along with negotiation, mediation, mediation/arbitration, and litigation when a settlement isn't reached. It also handles uncontested divorce and offers unbundled services for clients who need help with only part of a case. Ready has served on the Office of the Children's Lawyer legal panel, representing children in custody and access disputes, since April 2004, and has sat as a Dispute Resolution Officer in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Family Court in Oshawa since December 2010, presiding over case conferences there.

Ready is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Collaborative Practice Durham Region, and the Durham Region Law Association, and was born and raised in Prince Edward Island.
