About Lamers Law

Lamers Law is a sole-practitioner firm in Oshawa handling wills and estates, family law, and small business matters for clients across Durham Region. Amanda Lamers grew up in the region as the child of immigrant parents and launched the firm during the COVID pandemic, after 15 years in pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, including a stint as senior legal counsel overseeing regulatory affairs. Before that came a stint at a medical malpractice firm in Detroit, which first sparked an interest in the intersection of law and health.

Lamers holds a combined honours degree in English and Media, Information and Technoculture from Western University, plus two law degrees earned in three years, one from the University of Windsor and one from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. That dual training lets the firm work on both sides of the border. The practice describes itself as a virtual firm first, meeting clients by phone, email, and video, with an office at 50 Richmond Street East in downtown Oshawa for anyone who prefers to meet in person.
