About Zsolt

Zsolt Szekely practises immigration law at Szekely Law in St. Albert, Alberta, a natural fit given his own experience immigrating to Canada. He earned a civil law degree from George Baritiu Law School in Romania in 2000 and later passed the Romanian state licensing exam, and in 2011 he obtained an LLM in U.S. law from the Florida Coastal School of Law. He obtained a Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, articled at a downtown Edmonton law firm, and has been a practising lawyer in Alberta since 2015 as a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association. Before qualifying as a lawyer in Canada, he worked as a legal assistant and paralegal, first in Kitchener, Ontario and then, from 2007, in Edmonton. He also practised business, corporate, and administrative law in Romania, and speaks English, Hungarian, and Romanian.
