William G. MacLeod, K.C.

About William

William (Bill) MacLeod founded MacLeod & Company in 1991 and focuses his practice on insurance law, professional liability, and wills and estates disputes. He is recognized for his dispute-resolution work, having written papers included in the dispute-resolution syllabi at the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria, and he served as founding director of the Vancouver Association for Restorative Justice. His insurance background includes work as a claims manager, at an insurance brokerage, drafting insurance policies, and as in-house counsel for a liability insurer. He earned his B.A. from Reed College in 1973, with a junior-year exchange to the University of Warwick, and his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1976, after which he clerked for the B.C. Court of Appeal and articled at McAlpine Roberts & Poulus. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and has served on the Law Society of British Columbia's Liability Insurance, Professional Standards, and Audit committees.
