About Valerie

Valerie Messore is a tax lawyer based in Laval who focuses exclusively on tax litigation and disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. Called to the Barreau du Québec in July 2011, Valerie Messore earned an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal in 2010 and later completed a graduate diploma in taxation at HEC Montréal. Before opening a private practice, Valerie Messore spent about ten years with the Department of Justice Canada representing the CRA, along with time at a national law firm. Valerie Messore has conducted more than thirty trials before the Tax Court of Canada and has argued before the Federal Court of Appeal on three occasions, including a four-month trial in the Superior Court of Quebec. The practice covers audits, reassessments, penalty relief, SR&ED tax credit disputes and international tax matters. Valerie Messore received the Tax Law Associate Deputy Minister Award of Excellence in 2018.
