About Uzo

Uzo Aghaegbuna is the Managing Attorney of Stanley Law Office. He graduated from the University of Nigeria Faculty of Law with an LL.B (Hons), trained at the Nigerian Law School, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He also holds four master's degrees, in law, international law and diplomacy, industrial and labour relations, and humanitarian and refugee studies, along with a further B.L. qualification recognized by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Nigerian Bar Association, and belongs to Global Lawyers of Canada. Before focusing on legal practice in Canada he spent 15 years in senior banking roles, including as company secretary and legal adviser for international banks, and he holds project management and mutual funds advisor certifications. He partners with Legal Aid Alberta and Calgary Legal Guidance to help keep the law accessible and is involved in human rights and charitable work.
