About Tyler
Tyler Mäkinen is an associate at Advocates LLP, joining the firm in 2023 after working as an associate at Heal & Co. from 2022 to 2023 and previously at a construction law boutique firm in Toronto. Mäkinen earned a BMus with Honours in Music History from Western University in 2017, receiving a gold medal, and a JD from Western University in 2021. Mäkinen's practice focuses on construction disputes, regularly assisting clients with mediations and other aspects of construction litigation. Mäkinen grew up working alongside a father who was a residential homebuilder and has experience managing construction budgets for film productions.
