Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionThomas H. Percival earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario before obtaining his LL.B. (J.D.) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995 and being called to the bar in 1997. Over more than 25 years, he practised insurance defence litigation at firms including Benson Percival Brown LLP, Lawson McGrenere LLP, and Smockum Zarnett Percival LLP, appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the WSIB Appeals Tribunal. In August 2019 he completed professional mediation certification, and in May 2025 he was certified as an arbitrator by the ADR Institute of Canada and the ADR Institute of Ontario. He is also qualified to umpire property damage claims under the Ontario Insurance Act, and now focuses exclusively on mediating disputes handled by other lawyers.
