Intellectual PropertySylvie Bougie is the founder and owner of Vigi services juridiques, a Quebec City business law firm. She was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2006 after completing a law degree at Université Laval, and spent close to three years in private practice before joining a technology startup, Click Contact inc., where Bougie handled the company's legal matters, investor relations, and business planning. Since 2009 she has advised small and medium-sized businesses as an independent legal counsel, and founded Vigi services juridiques in 2012; the firm has since grown to a team of four business lawyers. Her practice covers business startups, corporate structuring, corporate reorganizations, business purchase and sale transactions, franchising, and information technology and intellectual property matters, and she regularly drafts shareholder agreements, service contracts, and employment contracts. Bougie is the author of two books on legal issues facing entrepreneurs, published in 2017 and 2019, and is active in Quebec City's entrepreneurial community as a speaker, teacher, and podcast host.
