About Marie-France

Marie-France La Haye has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1991. During her first decade of practice she appeared before administrative tribunals, the Court of Québec, the Superior Court and the Quebec Court of Appeal, and assisted a colleague before the Supreme Court of Canada. She later worked in-house for financial institutions and damage insurers before returning to private practice. Since 2013 she has served as an accounts arbitrator for the Barreau du Québec's Conseil d'arbitrage, and she also works as a clerk-recorder (greffière-audiencière) for several professional orders and for Quebec's Commission de la fonction publique, drafting hearing minutes for disciplinary and arbitration boards. In private practice she advises and represents clients in CNESST workplace-injury claims and helps self-represented litigants prepare Small Claims Court cases. She is an accredited trainer for the Chambre de l'assurance de dommages and has co-authored training materials for damage-insurance representatives.
