About Stephen

Stephen Fogarty practises Canadian immigration and citizenship law, working with individuals, families, businesspeople, skilled workers, students, and musicians and artists building their futures in Canada. He is a long-standing member of the Quebec Bar and has served as Honorary Legal Advisor to the Embassy of Ireland in Canada. He belongs to the Quebec Immigration Lawyers' Association (AQAADI) and is an associate member of the American Bar Association, and has delivered accredited training to lawyers' associations. Fogarty holds degrees in common law and civil law from the McGill Faculty of Law, an honours bachelor's degree in philosophy and political science from McGill, a master's in philosophy from the University of Ottawa, and a licentiate in philosophy from St Paul University. He also holds a Certificate in Entertainment Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and offers advisory services to musicians seeking to settle in Canada. Before studying law he worked for several years as a research officer for the Library of Parliament, and he remains active in Montreal's Irish community and in public legal education.
