Indigenous LawShereen Mckenzie is a barrister and solicitor and the founder of Mckenzie Baugh Law, practising primarily in criminal and family law. She earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, articled with Legal Aid Ontario, and worked as a duty counsel advocate in both criminal and family law courtrooms. Before practising law, she worked for the Ontario Public Service at the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs, and the Ministry of Energy, where she led the province's duty to consult portfolio for the Indigenous Energy Policy Unit. She has more than a decade of experience in community organizing and is known for her ability to negotiate difficult situations to reach consensus.
