About Serge

Serge F. Treherne is a barrister and solicitor practising in Sudbury, Ontario, with more than 30 years of experience. He holds a B.A. and an LL.B. and has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 1985. His practice covers family law, real estate, corporate law, civil litigation, and collaborative family law. He represents children through the Office of the Children's Lawyer in matters involving child protection, custody, and parenting time. He also acts as an agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, prosecuting offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Income Tax Act, and as an agent for the Family Responsibility Office. Treherne has served on the board of Sudbury Developmental Services, including as vice president and past president, and previously served as a board member and president of the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin. He is a member of the Sudbury and District Law Association and of the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation's Sudbury Collaborative Law Group, and was a candidate in the 2023 Law Society of Ontario Bencher elections.
