About Robert

Robert Astell has developed deep expertise in business and corporate law, particularly at the transactional level, piloting numerous major commercial transactions including business sales, mergers and acquisitions. He advises companies on their legal affairs generally and represents clients on securities regulatory offences and tax litigation. He has also built a strong reputation in agricultural law, representing major players in the agriculture sector on corporate, commercial and insurance matters. He has been involved in Old Montreal's business community for many years, serving on the board of the Société de développement commercial du Vieux-Montréal since 2010 and as its president since 2012, and he is also president of the Cantine des Œuvres St-Jacques, which serves meals to people in need, and a board member of the Maison des Petits Tournesols, which supports grieving children. He speaks French and English fluently.
