About Richard
Richard (Rick) J. Mallett graduated from the University of Alberta law school in 1989 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1990. For the first ten years of his career he practised as an insurance defence and corporate lawyer before turning, since 1999, to acting exclusively for injured people and their families. He established Hammer Injury Law in 2023 and has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta, the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, and the Supreme Court of the Yukon, as well as before administrative tribunals including the CPP Appeal Tribunal and the WCB Appeals Commission. He has received a Best Lawyers award since 2021, is past president of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the American Association for Justice and the American Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys.
