About Peter

Peter Hearty spent more than twenty years in policing, including 16 years investigating complex money laundering cases, and was qualified to give expert opinion evidence on money laundering in both provincial and superior court. He later gained litigation experience in employment conduct matters with the federal government. After going through his own high-conflict divorce, he applies that background to complex family law financial disputes, including cases where a spouse is suspected of hiding assets or income to avoid support obligations. He is a licensed lawyer with the Law Society of Ontario and provides services to clients virtually across Kanata, Ottawa, and Eastern Ontario.
