About Paola

Paola Melo was born in Colombia and immigrated to Canada at age nine. She studied criminology and social justice at Carleton University and worked as a law clerk before law school, then practised at a boutique immigration firm and a legal clinic. She is a member of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Association, and the Refugee Lawyers' Association, and teaches Family Class Immigration at Queen's University.
