About Norman
Norman H. Sims, K.C., resides in Minnedosa, Manitoba. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Commerce in 1977, majoring in accounting and finance, then earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law in 1980. He articled with Legal Aid Manitoba in Winnipeg and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1981. He practised with McNeill, Smith, Poole in Virden from 1981 to 1983 before purchasing the R. Dale Brawn Law Office in Minnedosa in 1983, practising under the name Sims & Sims. He received his Queen's Counsel appointment in 1994, served as an elected Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba from 1984 to 1992, and was appointed a Life Bencher in 1992, sitting as a permanent member of the Law Society Discipline Committee. He has been active in the Western Manitoba Bar Association since 1981, serving as President in 1987/88, and has published on wills and estates remuneration and ethics issues.
