About Michael

Michael Lazar earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 1978 and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 1982. He was admitted to the Bar of New York State in 1983 and the Manitoba Bar in 1984, after which he practised with Manly Israel & Associates and Pandya Davis Lazar & Boonov before joining Broadway Law Group in March 2000. His preferred areas of practice include criminal law, child protection matters before Child and Family Services, family law, and real estate. Michael has served as Chair of the League for Human Rights, Vice President of Community Relations for the Winnipeg Jewish Community Council, and Vice President of the Rady Jewish Community Centre, and was a founding board member of the Manitoba Ethnocultural Advocacy and Advisory Council. He has lectured on criminal law for the Community Legal Education Association and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2003.
